IRAM was established in 1935 as a non-profit private association. As the national standards body of Argentina, it also independently performs certification services.

IRAM is the representative of Argentina in the following institutions:

ISO——National Standards Organization

0P0DAMN——MERCOSUR Standards Association

COPANT—PAN—American Technical Standards Committee

And manages the Argentina Electronic Technology Association, IEC Argentina National Committee

Argentine IRAM certification certification field and certificate

RAMIRAM has been a certification body since the 1960s, and currently it certifies products in the following areas:

* Electronic Technology

* Mechanical

* Chemistry

* Hygiene

* Safety and Protection

* Toy

* Gas

* Lifting machinery

* Food

* Pharmaceuticals, etc., and quality and environmental management systems.

It is a CB (Certification Body) for electronic technology products recognized by OAA (Argentina) and a certification body for compulsory certification products recognized by the government. It is also a CB (Certification Body) for quality and environmental management systems recognized by OAA (Argentina), INN (Chile) and INMETRO (Brazil), and a member of I-Qnet.

批准 Before the certificate is approved, a 'pre-certification-factory inspection' is required. Once the certificate is approved, the next factory inspection is required.

RAMIRAM takes effect after the holder pays the certification fee, unless it is revoked because it does not meet certain contractual requirements or certification marks, or the holder's own requirements.

In order to ensure the safe use of electrical appliances by the public, Argentina requires that electrical products sold on the market must meet the corresponding safety requirements. Argentina issued a resolution on February 16, 1998, and began to establish a compulsory certification system to ensure that electrical products sold on the Argentine market meet the minimum safety requirements. The implementation of the system is divided into three phases:

First stage: Certificate of Conformity

The certification at this stage is similar to the European CE certification. All electrical products entering the Argentine market need a certificate of compliance, which is what we usually call a CE certificate.

Second stage: Type Approval

The product must be tested in an accredited laboratory of IRAM to obtain a type approval certificate issued by it. The type approval only needs to be tested for safety, no factory inspection is required, but no safety certification mark can be used on the product. 7E # I4D8Y ([4l * Y * A8M

The third stage: Product Certification

All products sold on the Argentina market at this stage must obtain the national certification mark. Certified products can use the "S" mark.

At present, Argentina's certification is transitioning to the third stage, that is, the product certification stage. Type approval certificates are still acceptable in Argentina. However, from 2001 to 2002, the product will gradually complete the transition to the certification stage.

The first step of certification is of course to choose the right certification body and laboratory. IRAM is a domestic certification body that has a cooperative relationship with multinational certification bodies. Details of IRAM can be found at www.iram.com.ar, but the site is only available in Spanish. IRAM accepts CB reports issued by most NCBs covering differences in Argentina's countries.

样 The tested prototype is prepared at 220V / 50Hz, and uses a power cord plug that meets the requirements of the Argentina standard IRAM 2073.

After the prototype is tested according to the corresponding IEC standards, the CB report is issued by the NCB. The application report, authorization letter, importer's declaration, product design drawings, parameters, electrical wiring diagrams, product photos, nameplates in Spanish and English manuals were submitted to IRAM along with the report.

In order to use the "S" mark on the product, a factory inspection is also required to ensure the consistency of product production. After the report provided to IRAM is reviewed and approved, the product can use the "S" mark.

IRAM Safety Mark is a mandatory (except exempted product) certification mark in Argentina.

Resolution 92/98, adopted by Argentina in 1998 (Resolution 92/98), established the certification system as mandatory. From December 31, 2002, all regulated products must be evaluated by a certification body recognized by the Argentina Accreditation Organization (OAA) Check whether it meets the relevant standards.

Manufacturers can attach the Argentina S mark to products that meet the standards. Product evaluation is performed according to IEC standards plus Argentine differences or Argentine standards. In fact, the formulation of the IRAM standard has adopted most of the provisions of the IEC standard.

决议 Resolution 92/98 has been implemented in several stages. Since December 1, 2003, mandatory safety requirements have been gradually set for different types of products.
